Introduction

The goal of the Berlin/Gorham Community Health & Safety Partnership is to facilitate regional coordination of public health services as defined by the framework of the 10 Essential Services of public health.

Service Area

The municipalities served by Berlin/Gorham Community Health & Safety Partnership include Berlin, Dummer, Errol, Gorham, Milan, Randolph, and Shelburne.

Partners

The Berlin/Gorham Community Health & Safety Partnership has established working relationships with area health, safety and governmental agencies, schools and businesses including the following.

Priorities for Action

Following a set of activities to assess community health needs and local public health system capacity, Berlin/Gorham Health & Safety Partnership established as its initial priority work areas:
  • Continued development of an effective partnership and broad constituency to address pressing public health issues;
  • Development and dissemination of a current community health profile;
  • Improving health education and health promotion activities including development of activities to improve physical activity and nutrition;
  • Development of a regional resource directory and participation in regional operations planning activities for public health emergencies; and
  • Enhancement of local public health and safety workforce competency by assessing training needs and facilitating more training opportunities locally.
